Drawing and Composition
Study of pictorial representation includes observational skill, spatial analysis, pictorial organization, perspective,
cross-contour, light logic, composition. Various drawing mediums will be introduced.
Life Drawing
Study of human anatomy, gesture, structural drafting. Learn to analyze the human form and to construct a
complex perception of human body. Various drawing medium will be explored.
Design
Students investigate the principle elements of design, color theory, and typography. They learn to understand the
elements of design to construct visual order for visual communication.
Painting
A variety of painting methods and materials will be introduced including color mixing and paint application.
Painting subjects are still-life, landscape, the study of human anatomy, gesture as well as draping, costume,
environment. Students discover individual sensibilities of mark making and personal vision through painting media
and techniques.
